  • What is Dermology?

Are you exercising, have a healthy lifestyle and still can’t get rid of your cellulite? Those stubborn areas of cellulite on your legs and buttocks can be treated with Dermology which may help you achieve a smoother appearance.

Dermology uses vacuum suction and rollers to break down the depleted fat cells through the lymphatic system. It can be an effective way to reduce cellulite and increase circulation to a treated area such as the back of the legs and buttocks. Usually a course of eight treatments is required for optimum results.

  • How does it works?

The skin rolling cellulite-reduction function of Dermology incorporates the basic principles of lymphatic drainage.  The drainage action can improve connective tissue strength, increases circulation, increase oxygenation and oxygen exchange.  This in turn can help improve the appearance of cellulite in the treated area.

  • What happens during treatment?

Before any treatment you will have a consultation with your PPP Doctor to discuss any aesthetics goals or ask any questions you may have. After a treatment plan is agreed, we will begin to target the selected areas. Your doctor will place the Dermology device on the nominated area, safely applying a drainage action. After the treatment you’re able to resume your normal daily activities with no required downtime.

  • How long will it take?

Each treatment can take about 40 minutes to an hour depending on the size treated. For Dermology, we recommend 6 to 8 treatments. This will help achieve visible results over the course of treatments.

  • Is this treatment permanent?

No. A full course of 8 treatments are required followed by maintenance once a month.

  • Is this treatment safe?

This treatment has been fully certified and approved in UK and Europe.

  • Are there any side effects?

The treatment can cause a little discomfort. There may be some redness after the treatment on the treated area, however these symptoms will resolve themselves within a couple of hours.

  • What is the aftercare?
    • Keep treated skin away from any excess heat and no hair removal for 48 hours.
    • Avoid using ‘active’ products for 2-3 days before and after the treatment.
    • Drink 1.5 -2 litres of water per day.
    • For your own comfort, do not consume a large meal immediately before your procedure, or directly afterwards.
    • We recommend avoiding alcohol and caffeine on the day of your treatment.
  • What are cautions and contraindications?

Dermology is unsuitable for pregnant and breast-feeding women. Your PPP doctor will discuss further medical contraindications during your face-to-face consultation.
